At the front entrance, there is a large crab, the symbol of Yamayoshi, which is illuminated at night. As you enter the entrance, there is a crab tank on your left, where fresh live crabs are kept in a small area. The elevator will take you to your guest room. The rooms are private rooms in a relaxed, purely Japanese style, and are popular with families, couples, and friends. Yamayoshi has developed its cuisine with a focus on “live” crab, rather than relying on frozen crab. As a crab specialty restaurant, Yamayoshi Shijokawaramachi is unable to offer better crab from April to September, and the quantity of quality “live” crab is decreasing every year, making it difficult to offer it at all of Yamayoshi restaurants.
