A variety of different course meals are offered here as guests can dine on seasonal dishes during lunchtime and dinner with special event course meals menus being offered during the summer and winter time. The cuisine emphasizes how every ingredient and Kyoto vegetable used is carefully chosen in order to create the Kyoto-style dishes. With each meal, guests are encouraged to drink any of the selected wines curated by the family at Gion Iwamoto.
Specialty at Gion Iwamoto
Guests enjoy eating the Omi beef as it is perfectly tenderized and sweetened to melt in your mouth as you chew on each bite. Every dish is a masterpiece when eating at Gion Iwamoto, but the Omi beef is a prized possession at Gion Iwamoto. The restaurant also has numerous special dishes for special occasions and New Year’s as they hold events from time to time. For example, to welcome spring, one of the meals that guests are able to eat is the Sakura Daifuku (rice cake), a traditional Japanese sweet, to be the icing on the cake of a perfect meal.
Interior at Gion Iwamoto
Guests enjoy eating at the counter seats or in any of the private rooms. Gion Iwamoto is luxurious with single board counters and a view of the beautiful green garden. As guests dine in a relaxing atmosphere, they are able to admire nature from their seats. Gion Iwamoto is also known for being frequented by Kyoto's food connoisseur Maiko (young apprentice geisha). A reservation system is in order and guests are able to make them prior to coming to Gion Iwamoto.
