Loved the food! I wish there was a written menu (even if it was in Japanese so that I could use Google translate to read) because the staff struggled to describe the food to us in English. I do appreciate that they welcomed us warmly to the space even though we are not locals. It was one of our favorite meals amongst many excellent ones we enjoyed in Japan!

The restaurant is in a great location with an engaging atmosphere where you can watch the chefs in action. The small plates are delightful, offering a fantastic variety of dishes. However, we felt that the warmth and friendliness typically associated with Japanese hospitality were lacking in two of the waiters. It was really nice that the restaurant tool care of my gluten intolerance.

I would suggest having the service staff be a lot less aggressive. When I walked in with my wife we wanted to start with a bottle of sake to share before having our own drinks... The service staff barked at us "one person, one drink". We were totally confused and tried to explain, but she continued to shout at us, with the entire restaurant staring at us, it was really off putting and we were very close to just walking out and asking for a refund. Luckily the chef behind the counter was very nice and professional and saved the entire dinner for us... The service staff really need A LOT of training on hospitality and manners.

We were disappointed by our experience. The food's presentation was excellent and very artful, but many dishes were bland. In addition, while doing their best, the staff don't speak English well enough to explain the ingredients. Thus, we didn't know what we were eating most of the time. I would recommend printing daily menus for each table or putting up a large sign on each floor with the day's menu.

the service and welcome were not good, the chef asked my name 10 times and I showed the email several times, he was still not convinced that it was me. the atmosphere in the kitchen was tense and this was felt by the customers. the food wasn't bad but the place lacked hygiene, the walls are full of grease, and the uncomfortable atmosphere doesn't make us want to come back.

We went to Giro Giro on a personal recommendation of a friend I really trust. I would say we left with a very different feeling and overall not that impressed. Upon arriving to the restaurant moments before our 6pm reservation, we saw a crowd of people waiting outside in the cold because they were not ready to open. Once they opened there was clearly no organization or order to entering and seating. We were sat at the end of the counter. after a few minutes of getting settled we were told our seats were actually upstairs - a COMPLETELY different vibe. That really put us off. From there, the service and waitstaff was chaotic. We were told what we were eating about half of the time, and usually had to ask for it. Leaving was the same mess as entering. They could not handle everyone's payment and reseating the restaurant at the same time. We also were not aware it was cash only until we were leaving. luckily we had enough.
