One of the highlights of our Niigata trip, and one of the best sushi courses I've ever had. A combination of excellent seafood and local Niigata/Uonuma ingredients.

You must give a try if you are staying somewhere not too far away. You should pick the ¥10,000 omakase if you visit there for dinner. I am impressed by the overall experience including the quality of food and the service provided by the staff.

It's about a 50-minute walk from Itsukamachi Station, and is a prefecture-designated gastronomy restaurant and a Tabelog 100 Famous Restaurant. Perhaps because it was a weekday Monday night, we were the only customers, and the friendly owner talked with us about the ingredients. The sushi with vegetable seasonings is delicious, but the shiitake mushroom itself has a special taste, texture, and taste that are perfect!
